AT&T unveils biggest ad campaign in its history

The rejuvenation of AT&T as a household brand name will begin New Year's Eve when the communications giant kicks off the most aggressive advertising campaign in its 120-year history. Local phone giant SBC Communications Inc. -- Kansas City's incumbent phone company -- bought long-distance giant AT&T Corp. on Nov. 18 in a $16 billion deal. In the process, SBC decided to scrap its brand for the iconic AT&T circular logo. The new company, called AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T - News), has about 5,000 employees in the Kansas City area.

In a written release Thursday, the company said that it will launch the ad campaign with television commercials on New Year's Eve broadcasts and continue them through 2006.

The company's new slogan is: "Your World. Delivered."

AT&T didn't disclose how much money it will spend on the ad campaign.
